The GFW Big Band Workshop

A day of working together arranging and presenting music in an ensemble. In the morning, we split up into five different groups and work on two or three pieces (see below), arranging them with harmonies, dynamics, etc. In the afternoon all the groups assemble and present their ideas. Then ideas from various groups are combined and the Big Band performs together.

The tutors involved are Nigel Gatherer, Alan Shute, Iain Murray, Douglas Lawrence and Daniel Thorpe. There are also Come'n'Try workshops and a Slow Session, so get booked in, or just turn up on the day. You can download the leaflet/booking form for the day here.
