Dagger Gordon |
Dagger
Gordon was born in Dingwall in 1953 and started playing the guitar in the
mid 1960s. At Stirling University he borrowed a mandolin from Nick Keir
(later of Finn Mac Cuill and The McCalmans), and he's been playing ever
since! His bands have included Black Donald and Highland Connection.
Dagger's
main instruments are a Sobell cedar topped 10 string mandolin and
an 8 string cittern. He released what was at the time the only album of
Scottish mandolin music - Highland Mandolin - in 1988 (re-released in 2000) and has recently
released a new CD, The Frozen River.
