UK Luthier Nigel Forster is about to auction a Rio/spruce mandolin in aid of guitarist Johnny Dickinson, who is seriously ill in hospital just now. The auction will start on eBay.co.uk on 24th June, bids starting at 99p with no reserve. More info at

It looks like a lovely instrument, and this is a good cause, so please do consider bidding or spreading the word to anyone you know who might fancy one of these mandolins!

I have one of Nigel's citterns and one of his A model mandolins, so can attest to the quality of the work he does.
