hello
firstly thanks Nigel for allowing me on here , well thought i would introduce myself my name is Sean im 43 and until about a month or two ago have never picked up a musical instrument but after listening to mandolin music for years decided to try and teach myself with the help of Melbay and the internet . Being a very disorganised person i tend to jump from one subject to another but try to at least spend an hour a day (if i have the time after work) practicing chords and scales then as much time as i can picking out melodies from TAB just to break the monotony of repetiton . i have a Tanglewood TMS /AV union series mandolin the best i could afford as being a bus cleaner even that was a stretch on my finances but have a cracking luthier set it up named tarquin bolton in my home county of durham . i hope people will be patient with me and my questions as i said before i am new to learning any music but a lot of our heritage is entwined within music and would love to be able to pass it on to my young un
thanks for reading |

RE: hello
Hi Sean and welcome to this forum and this wonderful world of traditional music. There are lots of Mandolin players here (not me) and they're all willing to help so you're in a good place.
