The Gathering in Crieff 2012
After much deliberation, I have finally set the date for The Gathering, An "awayday music-making experience." It aims to bring many people together to meet and play music. It will be held on Saturday 19th May 2012 at the British Legion, Perth Road Crieff PH7 3EB. When you book for the day, the ticket comprises a tunebook, all the tunes in which will be played on the day.
The day will be open to all instruments, and will included a soup-and-sandwich lunch, a performance by Nigel and Friends, and special buses travelling from (and back to) Edinburgh and Glasgow. If you have any doubt about whether it will suit you, don't! - it will! If you're still worried, get in touch with Nigel, and he'll answer any specific questions (email him). A list of music which will definitely be played will appear on my website. The cost of the day is £25.00, and booking details and further information will be found on my website. Nigel Gatherer Crieff, Perthshire |

RE: The Gathering in Crieff 2012
Just been on Google to try and track down the exact location of the British Legion in Crieff, and there seems to be a variety of buildings 'arrowed' depending on which website comes up. So if you could provide the exact location, i.e. a specific turn-off from the Perth Road, that would be a great help. Many thanks.
For those of you who just plan to put the postcode into your SatNav, note that (a) the postcode is PH7 3EB (not PG7) and (b) according to my Tom Tom it extends along a fair chunk of Perth Road, so be warned. Also, typing British Legion Crieff into Google Maps will take you to a fairway on the golf course! Cheers, Eric. |

RE: The Gathering in Crieff 2012
Is the bus fare included as the first post appears to suggest or does it cost £10?

RE: The Gathering in Crieff 2012
Originally the bus was to be free, but the participants ganged up on me and pressed me to charge something, hence the £10.00 charge.
Sorry about the postcode mistake - fixed now. Nigel Gatherer Crieff, Perthshire |

Approx 200 yards on the Perth side of the Dollerie Terrace junction on the opposite side of the road immediately opposite Houseproud Home Improvement store do not look at the Houseproud info maps as they show the store in 3 different locations in the town all of them wrong |

A check on Google maps Streetview shows that that there are 3 buildings opposite, and that the east one marked Old Schoolhouse is the most likely option. So I hope that this is the correct venue and that there will be enough parking. SatNav enthusiasts take care because one website gives the coordinates as GEO: 56.377651, -3.829684 but since neither these coords nor the associated map bears any resemblance to the above info they are probably wrong! Sorry to query the location but my own postcode covers 600 yards, and it's quite possible that this Crieff one extends for over half a mile. Should be a good day; looking forward to it. Cheers, Eric |

Ok Eric you are in the right place the Legion is just behind the Old Schoolhouse up a narrow lane with a small park behind iron railings on the other side of it there is a Legion plaque on the gatepost at the pavement end and the school house has its name on its gate the church is the next building to the east then the rectory and rectory road if you are early enough and lucky enough you might get parked in rectory road or nellfield road they were unrestricted last time I looked but check that that has not changed for the summer months failing that there is pay and display a little further down the street at Leadenflower behind the Crieff Hotel |

Thanks Ursula, that's brilliant. I'll probably get there early anyway, so I'll investigate your parking suggestions.
Best wishes, Eric |

Hi Eric and everyone else I have just found out that there is a fundraising coffee morning in St Andrews Halls in Strathearn Terr 10am to 11.30 Saturday morning with donations of goods being accepted from 9am they have no off street parking so I am afraid you are going to find yourselves competing with the locals for space in any of the streets behind the Legion Dollerie Terrace might be a better option good luck Ursula |
