You're Welcome Home
![]() This is from an Irish collection, O’Farrell’s Pocket Companion (1806), in which there are many Scottish tunes. This one is labelled “Scotch”, and it was probably taken from one of William Campbell’s dance collections. Play the first two notes of the B part with particular emphasis. RE: TOW#43: You're Welcome Home
Really enjoyed this, it's a great tune to play. I've just got an iPad 3 and downloaded Garageband and it's great. I have recorded this with the Mandocello and will upload later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNJ7_Q9Xniw

RE: TOW#43: You're Welcome Home
Here is what I knocked out quickly with Garageband on iPad 3 http://soundcloud.com/toshmarshall/youre-welcome-home
I have to say that the iPad is a great resource to have because you can get Guitar Pro on it and Adobe Reader, so I put all the tunes in pdf and stick them on there. No more big folders of tunes to cart around. I have iMovie and iPhoto as well so you can knock up a quick vid with pics and upload it to YouTube. Great toy......... Now that seems a sensible way to progress, Tosh! Liked your version of the tune over on Soundcloud. I have been looking at using a Kindle-type device for storing pdfs of the tunes we play - two of the band have Kindles and I like the quality of the screen and, as you say, the tunes are readily accessible and we are saving on lots of paper and folders.

I have to say the iPad 3 is fantastic John, for music, photos and books plus some great apps. Worth it just for Garageband. I did that recording straight just using the iPad's built in mic, all I did was pan the tracks and add some reverb. And you can use it anywhere, so you have your own Portastudio. It's a cool tool. The Guitar Pro app has some quirks in it that they need to fix but it still works well and I have all my files on there. I 've got tons of music from itunes. I would say it's well worth the investment. Just waiting for the new Macbooks with retina screens! Technology, you want to resist, but can't !!!!!
