Continuing the Inverness theme, this is a very nice jig composed by the late Bert Murray who was a good friend of the Scots Fiddle festival during his latter years.

I like this one, JAJ. Will certainly be having a go at it very soon. Thanks! JK Mandolins - Handcrafted in Argyll, Scotland. |

Thank you and, if any of you are in the Inverness area next weekend, you might still get a ticket. Selling out fast though. http://www.invernessfiddlers.org/index.a...eid=294186 “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet just because there’s a picture with a quote next to it.”

RE: Inverness Fiddlers(Bert Murray)
Did not make Inverness, JAJ, but we had a great Inverness-based all-girl group, Dorec-A-Belle, playing here in Dunoon at the Braes Restaurant/Bar on Saturday night. They are a four-piece band with a wide selection of instruments including accordion, guitar, tenor banjo, cello saxophone and more. I was lucky enough to play the opening half hour with a couple of colleagues; we had been invited along as a trio to open for them but our accordion player was smitten with the flu bug on Saturday lunchtime, so I made one or two frantic phone calls to recruit a couple of friends with whom we play fairly often! We had a great time and the girls were excellent, though perhaps a bar is not the best venue for such a talented group, especially a bar with a hen party among the customers!
