Musicians invited to play at Prestonpans Tapestry Exhibition
Individuals and groups are invited to play in St Mary's Cathedral, Palmerston Place, Edinburgh while the Prestonpans Tapestry is on display. Dates available Mon-Sat from mid June to the end of July, 2-4pm; also some evenings by arrangement. It would be good to have a variety of music from the period around 1745, which will add to the experience of visitors, but feel free to play whatever you wish! Refreshments provided but we are unable to pay a fee or expenses. It's a great opportunity to experience the excellent acoustics and play your favourite sets.

RE: Musicians invited to play at Prestonpans Tapestry Exhibition
Just to say that a few of us from SMG responded to this: Caleerie Buskers played tunes on several occasions during July, and Anna Fraser, her husband and myself went in to sing Jacobite songs on a couple of occasions (never knew there were so many!)
The Tapestry, illustrating Bonnie Prince Charlie's 1745 campaign up until the Battle of Prestonpans, is still on display throughout August, and is a magnificent piece of work, which just EVERYONE who is in or near Edinburgh should visit! In St Mary's Cathedral, Palmerston Place in the West end. It is 104m long, longer than the Bayeux tapestry, so goes up and down both sides of the nave of the cathedral TWICE!
More details and event listings on the website here:

It is also on show in Haddington for a short period in September.
