Hoch Hey Johnnie Lad
![]() Lord Drummond ![]() Two slow reels which I've always had a liking for, and which I think go quite well together. The first one is an old Scottish tune which is associated with a song. It's found in Ireland as Jerry O'Sullivan's, and my version of the tune is based on the way the Irish group Lunasa play it, as a slow reel, on their album 'The Kinnitty Sessions'. The second tune was learned from a record by the Tannahill Weavers. I don't know anything about the tune, except that it can be found in a different version in Kerr's Merry Melodies Book 3. I find that it's best to finish that tune with the A part. Nigel Gatherer Crieff, Perthshire |

A great pair of tunes Nigel, I found it a challenge to get through in one take but got near enough in the end. Done on a new camera which I haven't quite got to grips with yet! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgE8b05Si8U
