Man Grey John "Dancie" Reid
I was telling my Crieff group about John "Dancie Reid (1869–1942) from Newtyle, one of a family of musicians involved with the Newtyle Trio and The Newtyle Orchestra (more details). He has been described as "the last of the old fiddler-dancing masters", and I have a memory of seeing a clip of a film of Reid dancing while playing the fiddle. It was probably on television, but I really can't remember. I've had a search on the internet to no avail - does this ring a bell with anyone?

RE: John "Dancie" Reid
I think I may have seen that snippet at an event organized by Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust. Dunno if they still exist, but if they do they're the obvious people to ask.
