Finger exercises?
Are there exercises you can do to improve strength and flexibility of the fingers? It would improve my playing so much if I had more strengh.

RE: Finger exercises?
Some people swear by the Gripmaster (a hand exerciser where your fingers squeeze springs independently), I've never used one myself.

RE: Finger exercises?
I'm sure that each teacher has their own preferred set of exercises, and one of the great advantages of doing them under instruction is that your own teacher can ensure that all your hand and arm angles remain in the correct position as the exercises become 'more stretchy'. In the interim try looking at the "FFcP" exercises on
http://jazzmando.com/ffcp_studies.shtml which provide a good workout up and down the fretboard. |

RE: Finger exercises?
I was always told that the cheaper alternative to a Gripmaster was a tennis ball. Bigger muscles however won't necessarily equate with more flexibility.
