Sylvia won the Scots Singer of the Year Award at the MG ALBA Trad Awards in the latter half of the 2000s: I admit that I knew little of her then, but have since caught up: great singer, very expressive, can draw you into a long ballad. She was out of performing much for a while, I think. And she does a brilliant recitation of "Tam O'Shanter" at Burns suppers, though I doubt she'll be doing it at EFC! 
And Sandy's accompaniment is an object lesson in how to accompany a singer sympathetically, and not let the accompaniment get in the way of the song.
