It's good to try and stretch yourself even if you're not happy with it. I'd recommend Don Grieser's CD 'Hillbilly Chamber Music', it's great.

This was indeed an interesting piece, Tosh. I listened to your version and I too found the timing on that bar rather tricky. I was a bit naughty with somr of the double stops too!

Crackin' Nigel! The good old time magic. Did you know that the Canadian Nickel (5 cent piece) has a beaver on the back, so you can flip it and call "Heads or Beavers"......

I really enjoyed that John, really well played. That bar is a nightmare, but it adds to the tune, giving it character rather than it being all one dimensional and at least we had a go!!!!! Great stuff.......

Well done John and Tosh for giving it a go - I know it's probably not the usual stuff you play, but it's a good tune with some nice decorative elements: unison notes, slides, double stops, etc.

You are right, Nigel. It has lots of interesting wee elements in it to encourage all the techniques you mention here, and it took me away from my usual, as you say; always a good thing and a great learning device!
