Slow Session at the Borough, Wed 9th or Thursday 10th June?
How many would be interested in a Slow Session at 8-10pm this Wednesday at the Borough? Or Thursday 10th 8 till late? We could bill it as "escape the World Cup", though maybe we could include a few songs about football, or tunes with football related titles (anyone know aof any?)
Alistair.

Is the Borough available? There was talk about the back room getting widescreened for the World Cup.

Either Wednesday or Thursday would be fine for me.

The version on their CD includes a bit of recorded commentary in the middle which I presume is about Maradona scoring a goal.
Another performance:

There are some dead clever bits of synchronization between the tango and the video.

For me, Wednesdays yes, Thursdays no - I go to the Nitten session. If Thursdays get established, what do we do at the start of term - the class is on Wednesdays?

Thursday is EMGO's practice night - probably not on for Nigel or Eric, maybe others.

Don't worry about me having a clash on Thursday nights over the summer with the EMGO rehearsals if that's the only night you can manage. Though I presume that folks would want to find a new venue once the Autumn comes which is available on Wednesday nights and is within striking distance of Nigel's SMG class. Back to the upper Meadow Bar or even Bennets if they decide they need our custom?

Wow! I also vaguely remember a song "Fitba' Crazy" but haven't heard it for quite a while.

Either Wednesday or Thursday would be fine for me.

No-one that I spoke to mentioned a big screen in the restaurant.
All the World Cup matches will I think be on either BBC or ITV, so those without a Sky subscription will not need to go to a pub to watch, so I guess there will not be the same pressure on pubs to put a screen in every room.
But I'll check anyway.
I would personally favour having a go on Thursday this week, but will wait and see what others think.

That was my first ever single when I was a boy in the 1960s, by Robin Hall and Jimmie Macgregor. Round about the same time I went to see them open up a new Cooper's supermarket - they were so famous!
