[SMG Slow Session] 3rd-10th March

Some people requested that we do The Meeting of the Waters, so we're doing that on Wednesday the 3rd March. The following week, we're starting a set of old reels:

The Periwig
The Night We Had the Goats
and
Elizabeth's Big Coat

They're all short reels, so we may do the three in one evening; if not, it'll fall over to the next.

I didn't realise there was a four part version of "Meeting of the Waters". In the pipe bands I was a drummer in as a lad we only every played the two part version, very close to the version in The Lothian and Border Pipers' Society "Suggested Session Tunes" book.

Thank you for the tabs for, The Meeting of The Waters, Nigel. The pipe band of the Lovat Scouts played this tune as a march when I was in the TA with them a long time ago. I learned the tune in two parts by ear and needless to say got a few bits wrong. I have never heard it played for over forty years but it was a nice tune to march to.
