The Gathering

I have started putting details of my summer schools on my website at
Nigel Gatherer's Mandolin Summer School. There are three different weeks, with emphasis on less experienced players in the first week (18th-23rd July), and more experienced players in the second week (25th-30th July). In week 3 I have bravely set out to cater for all levels. Generally the mandolin classes will be in the morning, and in the afternoons we'll have mixed instrument groups, one-to-one lessons, sessions, talks, concerts, and other activities.

That's the first week finished, and what a week! I've been playing, teaching, eating, drinking, and breathing mandolin. I've played music with Cathal McConnell (Ireland), Pete Clark (Perthshire), Emma Nixon (Brisbane), Duncan Wood (Morayshire), Neil Paterson (Milnathort) and Alan Jones (East Kilbride). I've met some brilliant people from all over the world (Germany, Australia, Norway, England, Scotland, etc). So far, so brilliant!
