Crieff Community Music (CCM), is a project aimed at getting people to play music with each other, and eventually performing in the community.
Presently CCM has three strands:
- Crieff Ukulele Group
Crieff Ukulele Group has a beginners class and a main group for folk who have done the basics. The ambition for the beginners session is to get people started on the uke, and prepare them for joining the main group.
CUG has performed concerts in the Crieff and Strathearn area. None of its members ever thought it was something they could do, but they have grown to love it. You could too! Click here for further details.
- Crieff Traditional Music Group
Crieff Traditional Music Group is a group of amateur musicians, discovering the joy of playing music with others. The emphasis is on Scottish music, but we will add occasional pieces from further afield at times. All musicians are welcome, but you should have a basic grasp of your instrument. - The Gathering in Crieff
The Gathering is "an awayday music-making experience." The aim is simple: to bring a bunch of lovely people together to meet and play music. It is usually held in May in the small Perthshire town of Crieff from 10.30am-4.30pm. When you book for the day, the ticket comprises a tunebook, all the tunes in which will be played on the day.
The event is open to all instruments, and will included performances by individuals and groups, and often a special bus travelling from (and back to) Edinburgh. Click here for further details.
